Is what you buy really Canadian?

Ce que vous achetez est-il vraiment canadien?

Pick your industry. We'll trace three everyday purchases through the four places where Canadian money can leave the country. Every fact below comes from a named source, and some of them surprised us too.

Every purchase is a chain of four links
Link 1Made whereWas it grown, mined or manufactured in Canada?
Link 2Maker owned byA Canadian factory can still send its profit to a US parent.
Link 3Seller owned byThe distributor or store you pay. "Canada" in the name proves nothing.
Link 4Bought fromA seller in Canada, or a web store in the US that ships across the border.

Pick your industry

Three purchases. Now picture all of them.

A year of invoices holds dozens of lines like these, and the chain is different for each one. We check every line: who made it, who owns the maker, who owns the seller, and where a genuine Canadian option exists. Book a 15-minute intro and bring one invoice.

How we checked

Ownership comes from company filings, the company's own statements, or named news coverage, and each card links its source. Where we couldn't confirm a link, we show it as grey instead of guessing. "Bought from" cards marked as a US web store describe a common way people order the product, not a claim about one particular store.

Owners change: RONA, Metal Supermarkets and SupplyOne Canada all changed hands in the past four years. Facts were checked in August and October 2026. If you spot something that has changed, email info@canadianizer.ca and we'll fix it.
